OMG these past 9 months of planning all came down to the fastest night ever. It literally flew by... one minute, I'm being zipped up in my gown, and the next I was tossing a boquet. It was a wonderful, beautiful day, and all of the people involved were tremendous help. We honeymooned in the gorgeous Maui, Hawaii. Still haven't completely unpacked, as I am dreading the laundry that comes with it. Now, onto the hundreds of thank you cards...we better get to writing!

Dressing with Dresses
Spring is in the air! Well, at least the hint of spring with these April showers and slightly warmer weather. That means it is dress season. Though not a big fan of wearing dresses for long periods of time, I do enjoy the girly aspects of flattering shapes and shoe shopping that comes with dress hunting.
I have been hunting for my engagement photo shoot outfit(s) and my bridal shower dress. Not to mention I also have a cousin's wedding and baby showers to attend this year too. After an uninspiring trip to my local mall, I decided a little online shopping would be more productive. I FELL IN LOVE with this dress from Macy's.

I also purchased these 3 dresses from NY and Company since I had a $50 off $100 coupon code.

Jewelry Makes One Happy
As I was strolling through the jewelry store today, trying to decide on a surprise for my Mom's 55th birthday coming up, it hit me; jewelry makes people happy. These people that work here are able to see people in their most emotional times all because of jewelry. Jewelry makes people feel special. It allows people to celebrate an occasion in a way a "Hallmark card" cannot. Whether it's a proposal waiting to happen, a present for someone special, or a celebration of a milestone, jewelry is the best excuse for those moments. Plus, those lights in the display cases makes it sparkle and bling like nothing else.

Future of Education
Have you seen the new Verizon small business commerical-Suzie's Lemondade Stand? This commercial sums up my feelings about how much students are going to have to mutli-task, use portable technology resources, and compete in a global market. If kids ruled the world, Susie's Lemonade Stand would be the standard business.

Bridal Bootcamp 2- "Pretty shoulders in wedding dress"
We are 5 sessions in, meeting 2X a week with Steve. I go for cardio and arms or legs 2-3 times a week too. So far, 10 solid pounds lighter, but sooooo much stronger than when we started. I am even running on the treadmill. ( I used to be scared of the treadmill and stuck strictly to the elliptical.). Session 4 had me crying. I thought I couldn't do both sets of mountain climbers and he wouldn't let me give up...he made me do more! Pretty shoulders in my wedding dress, where fatty mcfatness doesn't hang out of the back is my new motivation this week.
Better than dropping the pounds, is the way I feel. I have more energy, I can fit into my tight jeans and there's room to breathe. I am wearing my work pants that I had hidden in the back of my closet because they were too small at the start of winter. I can even tell with how much longer I can walk around in my heels or boots. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of pain, but it's the little things that I celebrate to achieve my overall goal of being healthier.
We eat salad daily or twice a day and more vegetables, though I'm still urging Hubs2be on more greens. I actually like salad, but I can't have the same kind everyday. I have to mix it up- southwest with corn and chip strips, fruit and poppyseed, mandarin orange asian inspired. But my absolute favorite- garden salad with fresh tomatoes. LOVE the tomatoes. Food is broken into carbs, proteins, and fat. We are even drinking protein shakes. The chocolate WHEY protein from Wal-mart is fabulous! (not so much a fan of cookies n cream)
I'm just proud of us that we are getting healthier and that we have found another hobby together.

The plastic cups with straws are all the rage at work. I refill all day long, and I have no desire to go back to my Diet Coke addiction. (The straw is where it's at.)

Bridal Bootcamp
has commenced.... We signed up for a trainer with about 4 months to go. Today was day one and the basics kicked our butts. YEESH...I almost cried, passed out, and I also fell over while doing lunges. You know what? I can't wait for more!!! I think we found a trainer who will get us in gear and won't let us slack off...I know because I already tried to...slack off. The only thing I'm worried about is the nutrition plan. Lots of numbers and calculations that I don't really understand yet, but I will.
So needless to say this is a challenge for me and for us, but we need it.

Wedding Registry
So yeah, I'm planning a wedding for this July. We finally found time to schedule an impromptu visit to our local Bed Bath and Beyond. WOW! After 2 hours, I was exhausted. HTB (Hubs to Be) had no problem operating the scanner gun. In fact, he's really surprised me with how much he has stepped up to the plate with all of this planning business. Speaking of plates, we went with boring old vanilla plain old white and mixed square and rounded shapes. They will never go out of style and are so durable you can stand on them...a plus for clumsy couples like us who have the dropsies. We only did dinner and salad plates, but had to have ROUND bowls for cereal and soups.
Here's our plates!
Anywhoo, the registry made us feel like a king and queen with a magic wand. They have incentives :read FREE STUFF: for scanning enough certain name brand products. I am done at 123 items registered, but they suggest 2 gifts per person invited...haha 400. How can anyone need or want more than 100 things? We are also thinking about registering at another store for big expensive things (TV, vacuum) so that when no one in their right mind buys them, we can go in and buy them at a discount, just because they're on the registry! woot woot! Problem is which one do we pick?
Target?
Amazon.com?
Best Buy?
Hmmm...decisions.
